The coalition – of which A Rocha UK is a part – are celebrating a successful February campaign. More than six million views of a promotional film were logged. More than 500 community events took place – including Eco Church celebrations – and messages shared across all media.

GREEN COMMUNION

From 7th-14th February, participants were able to ‘Show The Love’ for the things that mattered to them – like nature, increasingly affected by climate change – by taking part in this nationwide movement.

The aim was to make a big deal about the threat of climate change. From organising a church event like Green Communion to arranging a meeting with MPs, people could use anything they wanted to ‘Show The Love’ for things that are at risk.

Eco Church’s first anniversary fell in the same month as the Climate Coalition’s campaign. A Rocha UK encouraged churches to use ‘Show The Love’ resources and let the coalition know about their events.

A Rocha UK-related churches and supporters who took part in the campaign can tell the coalition how it went for them. All they have to do is complete an online survey form.

CREATIVE CALL

The coalition will be talking to MPs and giving out green hearts in Parliament. That will lead to a debate on climate change in the House of Commons. This will be followed up with a Week of Action in July.

‘With climate change a threat to nature as well as people, it’s great to see A Rocha UK supporters and Eco Church communities joining others in such a creative call for action,’ said A Rocha UK’s CEO Andy Atkins.

‘Thank you to each and every one of you for the part you played in making this possible,’ said coalition spokesperson Lorena Vila. (Photo: Climate Coalition)
