Following on from the ‘Act Now, Change Forever’ mass lobby in London on 9 July, the people of Wales are invited to come together to show that they care and want a Wales where communities thrive, nature is restored, and justice prevails.
This collective action takes place on Wednesday 17 September, 9.30am- 4pm, at the Urdd Gobaith Cymru Centre in Cardiff Bay. Individuals are encouraged to sign up to attend via the Action Network website, contact their MS to let them know about their attendance, and, on the day, share experiences, stories and passion about future desires towards a more sustainable future.
With MSs re-gathering after the summer recess, this mass lobby will foster a feeling of togetherness and unity and help to amplify our individual voices. It is the opportunity to speak directly to your MS about why it is so important that future legislation helps nature, people and the climate.
There are three urgent messages to unite behind:
Fairness: A just transition to every home being warm and efficient, where more of our energy is community-owned, where no one is left behind, and where we stand in solidarity with those people in other parts of the world who face the harshest climate impacts.
Finance: Unleashing vital funding where money flows to where it’s needed most, from flood defences to food security.
Restoration and resilience: Being a force for nature where nature is enabled to properly recover, where wetlands slow floods, woodlands cool our towns, and farmers are backed to grow healthy food in ways that protect nature and keep rural communities strong – because communities thrive when nature does.
How can you take action?
- Save the date – Wednesday 17 September.
- Register your attendance and stay in the loop!
- Let your MSs know you are coming.
- Share your plans with your friends or community and encourage them to sign up too.
There will be information stalls, a panel discussion and a range of activities throughout the day.
