Growing work needs new volunteers

Passionate about mobilising churches for the environment? A well-organised person who’d enjoy being part of an office community?

If so, you might be just right for A Rocha UK. We’re looking for volunteer workers on two key projects – Root and Branch magazine and Eco Church.

A Rocha UK needs one or two volunteer editors to join the team that produces its well-respected publication. Published twice a year with a 5,000-strong readership, Root and Branch has articles ranging from analysis of international environmental issues, through updates on work in the UK and abroad, to biblical reflection.

Led by volunteer chief editor Jean Morgan, the team decides the content, commissions and edits articles – ensuring a high-quality product. If you have editorial experience, a passion for good writing, a sharp eye for detail, and would like to be part of this creative team, contact CEO Andy Atkins.

Eco Church is growing fast, with nearly 600 churches now registered. To keep up with the demand for this scheme – which A Rocha UK provides free – the team needs help!

We’re looking for one or more volunteers to come into our lively West London office once a week. They’ll support Eco Church Manager Nigel Hopper (pictured) in responding to enquiries, fulfilling requests for materials and processing award applications. Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed. If you want to be part of a winning team, contact Nigel.

‘A Rocha UK achieves much with our small team of staff and volunteers,’ said Andy Atkins. ‘Volunteering provides a great opportunity to get experience, “give back” from experience you already have, and be part of a committed team working for a great cause. A Rocha UK now needs volunteers for two key projects. Could this be you?’ (Photo: Clive Price)
