Love birds?
Our Partner in Action, Knowlands Farm, Sussex, counted a whopping 53 species of bird last month.
This family manage a patch of 300 acres of Wealden clay grassland, woodland and arable land in central Sussex, and practise regenerative farming “with wildlife in mind”.
The birds seen include the Marsh Tit, one of our Target 25 species, as well as Chiffchaff, Grey Wagtail, Kingfisher, Mistle Thrush, Redwing, Snipe, Greenfinch, Treecreeper and Woodcock plus the wonderful Finch flock in the bright conditions following rain and gales.
Even more impressive were the Linnets seen. 531 were counted in this photo, while a little later 1,209! Great to know that these birds like the conservation work that goes on!
