The Lea Brook Valley Project is a community group coordinated by local Christians in Dronfield, Derbyshire, working for conservation and community engagement in the urban nature reserve in the heart of their town. Lea Brook Valley is seeking a dedicated volunteer for the important role of Communications Officer. The Communications Officer must be organised, efficient, and comfortable using email and social media. This position involves facilitating communication between the Lea Brook Green Team members and the trustees, as well as maintaining a social media presence and promoting Lea Brook Valley events.

The communications officer will also be the main contact point for anyone seeking more information about the project, and they will maintain channels of communication with our partner A Rocha UK about any joint projects and national training opportunities.

There may also be opportunities to work with the chair of the Lea Brook Valley on administrative tasks according to the interests and abilities of the Communications Officer. This could include research and assistance on matters of insurance, health and safety or grant proposals.

This position is ideal for students and post graduates seeking experience working with charities and community outreach organisations. The Lea Brook Valley will support the Communications Officer with any necessary training for the position and will provide oversight and guidance.

This role is completely voluntary and unpaid, however, expenses will be covered if attending training courses/ events in relation to the Lea Brook Valley project. We are seeking a Communications Officer willing to make at least a year commitment to the project, with an expectation that the work will not require more than twelve hours per week.

-Able to attend Green Team meetings in Dronfield

-Ability to commit 12 voluntary hours per week for at least one year
