anyd atkins square 3Happy New Year from A Rocha UK!

I expect you and I have much in common – a love of nature and a love of the Church, God’s family (warts and all, like any family!).

I’m passionate about conserving and restoring nature and preserving a life-sustaining climate, for the love of God and fairness to future generations. I love what we can achieve when we act together. So it’s a privilege to join the A Rocha UK family. I look forward to working with you to make the UK a better place for nature and people, to the glory of God.

A Rocha UK has exciting plans. I’ll mention just two now. At the end of this month we launch Eco Church, a scheme to help churches care for God’s earth. Read our news story here. Please encourage your church to join. In the light of December’s international agreement on climate change in Paris, it’s vital we all play our part in delivering the action required to keep climate change under control. Eco Church will take you from Paris to Parish.

In April we launch a unique weekend event called Wild Wonderful World, with Adventure Plus. In our largely urban society, many people – particularly the younger generation – are cut off from nature and rarely experience the big outdoors. We need to give people a chance to experience it, know it and love it, if they are to be its protectors. At Wild Wonderful World they’ll have a choice of great activities and top speakers – including internationally renowned explorer Jo Gambi, who is a Christian. Register here. Do spread the word to family and friends who might be interested.

Thanks so much for your support. We couldn’t do all this without you. I look forward to seeing what we can achieve together this year.
