Hugh’s Meadow Nature Reserve has been farmed by the Ellison family for many years. It was bought by Hugh Stirling and handed on to the next generations, and is now owned by Hugh’s grandson, Edward Ellison. As a family they run their beef and sheep farm business very much with the ethos of working with nature and successfully encouraging wildlife on their land.

Hugh’s Meadow Nature Reserve, named in memory of Frank Ellison’s father-in-law, is a mixture of Wildflower grassland and Native Woodland with a number of springs and streams. We hope to make this a space where all can come together in harmony. It is the intention that the formation of this nature area will involve local churches, primary schools and other interested individuals who all want to see God’s wonderful creation preserved.
