A Rocha UK is delighted to welcome two new members of our conservation Partners in Action (PIA) programme – Ashburnham Place in Sussex and Drumalis in Northern Ireland.

Ashburnham Place formally launched its membership of the PIA network at an event on 17-19 January addressed by A Rocha UK’s Head of Conservation, Andy Lester. Ashburnham is situated in 220 acres of beautiful grounds in the East Sussex countryside and is the home of a thriving Christian community. It provides a place for people from all walks of life to retreat, rest, refresh and reconnect. Ashburnham is working to ‘green’ their practices around food and waste, improving biodiversity, and developing creative ways to encourage people to spend more time outside for health and well being. We are very much looking forward to working together and learning from one another.

In February, the Drumalis Centre, a conference and retreat centre in Larne, Northern Ireland will formally become a Partner in Action. Drumalis will be both the first Roman Catholic Partner in Action as well as the first in Northern Ireland. Drumalis and A Rocha UK are celebrating the new partnership with a public conference ‘Re-inhabiting the Earth’ at Drumalis on 14 – 16 February. Speakers include A Rocha UK’s Head of Conservation Andy Lester. You can find more details of the conference and register here.
