A Rocha UK believes Christians and churches have an important role to play in addressing the linked emergencies of climate change and nature loss. The year ahead presents major opportunities for Christians and churches to make a difference through A Rocha’s programmes and the coalition campaigns we are involved in. We are looking for a Press and Communications Officer to raise the profile of A Rocha UK, our work and the Climate Sunday campaign with key audiences, in this critical year leading up to the COP26 climate negotiations, where nature is a major issue on the agenda. The post is offered initially as a one-year contract.
A Rocha UK is a Christian conservation charity equipping Christians and churches to care for the natural world. We are part of the international A Rocha family, with sister organisations in 20 countries. We facilitate conservation activities across the UK, on our own nature reserves and on land managed by our partners; we equip and inspire Christians to enjoy, nurture and defend nature; we manage the Eco Church scheme, which over 3,000 churches have now signed up to; and we support Christians in environmental leadership.
If you want to play a key role in advancing A Rocha UK’s mission of equipping Christians and churches to care for the environment in 2021 please get in touch. The closing date is 9am on Wednesday 3rd March and interviews will be held in the week beginning Monday 22nd March. Please see below for the full job description and details on how to apply. Please do share this opportunity with anyone you think would be a great candidate.
