One of our amazing supporters, Buff Stone, is running the Loch Ness Marathon 2026 to fundraise for A Rocha UK!
Buff explains what running means to her: ‘Running a marathon takes time, commitment, persistence and a level of stubbornness! So many characteristics that we need as advocates for prayer and action in the face of the climate and environmental crises. Running has helped me see that we can do far more than we think – particularly when we do it as a team.’
Buff is a tremendous advocate for God’s earth and all who live in it. In her role as Environment Officer for the Diocese of Chichester, she is committed to growing Eco Church and supporting churches. Over the last two years, Buff has also been supporting many of the wider actions of the diocese to promote care for creation, which culminated in the diocese achieving a Bronze Eco Diocese Award earlier this year! In her ‘spare’ time, she has committed to preparing to run the challenging Loch Ness ‘monster’ marathon to support A Rocha UK.
In a couple of weeks, Buff will set off for the Scottish Highlands for her marathon: ‘I’m so grateful to God for the wild beauty we’ll encounter – and how precious and fragile it is after this summer’s wildfires. I’m inspired to run for A Rocha UK in order to support their work. The calm, persistent, positive, prayerful, bible-based encouragement that they give, helps so many churches find a way forward to respond to the climate challenges we face.’
This is not the first time Buff has shown her heart for A Rocha UK through running, and we are so grateful for her dedication. Please donate to show her your support and make a difference to the work of A Rocha UK.
