They’re working together to set up a new zone focusing on all things eco-friendly at CRE International 2016 (2015 event pictured). What’s become known affectionately as ‘the ideal church show’ runs at London’s ExCeL from 17th-20th May.
‘We’re very proud and excited to partner with A Rocha UK in setting up Eco Street,’ said event director Bill Allen. ‘Eco Street has been founded because we recognise the need to help churches care for God’s earth.’
A seminar stream will discuss theological issues surrounding ecology and offer ways in which churches can respond in a practical way. A Rocha UK supporters will be entitled to free admission to the event.
‘Organisations, agencies and companies that have something to offer churches in this area are getting involved with us at CRE,’ said Churches And Theology Director Dr Ruth Valerio. ‘It’s happening to such an extent, the zone is now nearly full to capacity.
‘My hope is that Eco Street will play its part in a culture shift where caring for the earth isn’t seen as some optional extra for strange Christian weirdos – but as mainstream – something in which all churches are involved.
‘It’s exciting because it’s the first time CRE has ever done this. It’s a big statement that CRE wants to look at this issue.’
A total of more than 300 exhibition stands across the whole event are aimed at equipping and inspiring local churches. The environmental focus will run as part of this popular programme that CRE has developed of seminars, books, CDs, DVDs and other resources.
Organisations who’d like to exhibit in Eco Street can contact Jack or Alexis from the CRE sales team on 01793 418 218, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
