Brighten winter’s dark days – with the idea of attending our first-ever Nature and Discovery Week in the south of France.
From 10th-16th June next year you can enjoy exploring conservation and faith amid the beauty of summer and nature at Les Courmettes, A Rocha France’s centre in the Alpes Maritimes.
Overlooking the Bay of Cannes, Domaine de Courmettes is a biodiversity-rich nature reserve. Woodland, wetland and grassland habitats, working farms, marked trails, sites of geological and archaeological interest are all presided over by the soaring 1,248m Pic de Courmettes mountain.
You’ll be able to find out about the nature, history and working life of the estate on guided walks. You’ll have free time for visits to scenic villages like Tourrettes-sur-Loup or Gourdon, to the perfume factories of Grasse or to dip your toes in the Med!
If you want to be hands-on, there’ll be volunteering opportunities on site. Also on offer will be evening talks on A Rocha France’s work and other projects further afield – plus chance to explore issues of faith and creation care.
Accommodation is in single or double rooms with shared bathrooms. Cost, which includes full board and activities, is €350pp (double/twin room), €450 (single).
Organisers for A Rocha UK are Courmettes volunteer Felicity Hall and A Rocha UK volunteers David and Jean Morgan. ‘The three of us are arranging the week’s programme together with the Courmettes team,’ said the Morgans, ‘and we’ll be delighted to answer questions and share our enthusiasm for this amazing place and holiday!’
