Columban Missionaries
Volunteers of A Rocha UK attended the rewilding event held by the Columban Missionaries as part of their Care for Creation celebrations at the end of September.
The wet weather couldn’t dampen enthusiasm as local educators, teachers, students, environmentalists, members of the community, the local ecologist, beekeeper and tree wardens joined staff for inspiring talks on biodiversity and sustainability! This was followed by a short liturgy then walks and activities throughout the afternoon.
The Columban Missionaries have taken the exciting decision to rewild most of their land with help from the local schools and community and early results are promising.
The event also marked their official launch as the 54th Partner in Action with Father John Boles, the Columban Director in Britain, receiving their certificate.
